      HT-DR-601 intelligent soil moisture meter is used to measure the soil water content. The measurement is based on FDR, which means electromagnetic wave of certain frequency sent by sensors transmits along the probe to the bottom and then returns, and sensors detect the output voltage of probe to measure the dielectric constant of the soil being detected, since different dielectric constants (changed according to different soil water content) can produce different voltage signals, and last the sensors derive the volumetric water content and mass water content of the soil according to the nonlinearity relationship between the soil volumetric water content and soil dielectric constants. Sensors are embedded in detecting sites and protected by closed PVC tubes outside. The largest number of detecting layers can reach to 16 (the standard detecting layers are 5).
